10 step program for removing bogus Twitter Followers

Aha! I just love that moment of discovery when I figure out something that’s been plaguing me for a while…

Most recent Aha! moment was figuring out how to rid my followers list of already blocked spammers & “FolloWhores”.(as I like to call them) that never seem to disappear on their own.

Here’s what you do in step by step fashion:

1. Goto your Twitter home page
2. Unblock the FolloWhore (eh? It won’t hurt, just do it.)
3. Logout & log back in.
4. Follow that person (Wha? Trust me)
5. Logout & log back in. Again. (1Password rulez)
6. Unfollow the dead FolloWhore
7. Repeat step #5. Again.
8. Block said FolloWhore
9. Repeat step #7, which repeats 5, 3, etc…[Deprecated]
10. Check your follower count

The logging in/out of twitter seems to help, because it ?saves or updates your status? (guessing). It may or may not be necessary., but it works!

If this doesn’t work, I’m sorry. You can always email Twitter support. They have plenty of time on their hands with all the flawless uptime recently.

Update: oh yeah, you will want to close any other twitter clients you might have open
